Photometria International Photography festival (PIPF) is organised since 2008 in Ioannina, northwest of Greece by the non-profit organization Entefxis. PIPF is a cross-cultural meeting point, bringing ideas, traditions, worldviews, and expressive media from all over the world bringing together not only renowned photographers but also amateurs. PIPF aims to be a cultural umbrella under which photographic expression and creativity grow.
The vision of PIPF is to become a showcase of contemporary photography, to support local and foreign photographers, to promote photography education and cultivation of partnerships with cultural organizations and festivals in Greece and abroad. PIPF organises the first interactive photography festival in which everyone who loves the art of photography can participate and vote for the best photo.
The PIPF has organised 40 solo exhibitions and more than 52,000 people have visited them. There have been 2.660 entries to the competition section so far and 42.000 registered votes. 820 participants have attended the workshops organised during the festival. 60 thematic film screenings, 25 lectures, 6 book presentations, 22 partnerships with European festivals and lastly but not less important 30 volunteers that support the festival each year.
