PH21 Gallery is a contemporary art exhibition space in Budapest, Hungary. The mission of the gallery is to provide group and solo exhibition opportunities, international exposure and a professional networking forum for photographers around the world. To this end we invite emerging and established photographers to participate in our regular calls for entries for solo and themed group exhibitions. We have hosted a number of inspiring shows since we opened our first international group exhibition in May 2014, and we have had the honour of exhibiting works of talented photographers from all corners of the world. Most of our photographers are professional artists who regularly exhibit their work internationally, but many emerging photographers and advanced photography students have also succeeded in having their works curated into our shows.
In early 2015 we moved to 55 Ráday Street in Budapest. This is one of the most exciting and lively neighbourhoods in the centre of the city. Indeed, we are now in the pleasant company of other art galleries, cafés, restaurants and bars, the Goethe-Institut Budapest, an antique shop, a second-hand bookshop, a confectionery, a luthier’s shop and some nice office buildings.
Besides presenting their work in our exhibitions that have been gaining increasing local and international recognition for their quality, our exhibiting artists also appreciate the opportunities that our online presence provides them in terms of developing their professional network. As a direct result of having a solo show or participating in a group exhibition with us, many artists have received further recognition by curators, critics and collectors worldwide. Our exhibiting photographers also appreciate the virtual community of their peers on our social media pages where they are able to connect with one other, to learn about the work of others and to give and receive feedback.
